Neighborhoods throughout the City of Beloit are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.  National Night Out involves over 34 million people participating in “America’s Night Out Against Crime” each year.

National Night Out is designed to:  1) heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) strengthen neighborhood spirit and Police-community partnerships; 3) generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; and, 4) send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Residents throughout the City of Beloit and across the nation are asked to turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and Police.  Many neighborhoods throughout the City of Beloit will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from Police, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti- crime rallies.

Citizens are asked to join the Beloit Police Department in “giving crime and drugs a going away party”.
