A tight housing market may be making it even more difficult for many in need to find a safe, affordable, and sustainable place to live. The United Way Blackhawk Region is requesting proposals from local nonprofit organizations to implement a Housing Resource Navigator position. President and CEO Mary Fanning-Penny says 80-thousand dollars has been dedicated for the effort. Fanning-Penny says the United Way already funds a similar program at ECHO, but more needs to be done.
