Scott Johnson will represent Republicans in the 33rd Assembly District on this fall’s ballot after narrowly defeating Dale Opperman.

Johnson said that after speaking with members of the community, he learned that the care of the roads and the proper spending of the road tax along were important to residents.

Johnson also said that people in the community wanted to be represented and to have the government actually do something and move forward.

Johnson had nearly thirty three hundred total votes, while Opperman had just under thirty one hundred. Johnson will now face Democrat Don Vruwink in the fall general election.
