Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center may face new city council

The Woodman’s Sports and Design Committee met again Tuesday afternoon, and the project may be up for vote with a new look city council.
Public Works Director Mike Payne says the revised schedule appears to issue bids for the project in May of 2023, which would be after the April election and could potentially put the convention center to vote in front of a new group of council members.
Payne says that even though the WSCC wasn’t able to secure $2 million in funds after the Rock County Board of Supervisors voted against an amendment in their budget Tuesday night, they will continue to work angles and secure funding for the project.
As of Tuesday afternoon the project still has a price tag of roughly $50 million.
