Lengthy chase ends in arrest

A 32-year-old homeless man from the Rock County area is facing multiple charges after a lengthy police chase overnight.  Authorities say the chase began around midnight Wednesday in Walworth county, and ended in Rock County.  Sheriff’s deputies and police from Machesney Park, South Beloit, Beloit, Clinton, and Janesville assisted.  Stop sticks were used at a number of locations, and the suspect is accused of crashing into multiple squad cars.  Officials say Cory Bendorf was ultimately taken into custody by Rock County sheriff’s deputies a little before1:00 a.m. Thursday near Afton and Rockport Roads.  Bendorf is wanted on a number of open felony warrants.
