Beloit man charged in connection with shooting

A 40-year-old Beloit man is facing charges after police say he fired a gun in a neighborhood several times on October first, striking a home and a church.
Lamardus Dewayne Ford is charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of a firearm by a felon in Rock County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, Beloit police responded to the report of a disturbance, and then a shooting in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue just after bar close on Saturday, October first.
Witnesses on scene indicated that Ford was the shooter, and that he took off on foot.
Police located seven shell casing on the ground and found that both a home and a church on Lincoln Avenue had been struck by bullets.
If convicted of the new charges he faces up 27 years in prison.
