the-bear-and-the-owlposter

The spring schedule starts with one of the most popular films of BIFF 2017, The Bear and the Owl, with filmmakers present to talk about the film and its local ties. Part of the Beloit Health System BIFF CARES series, the film sold out each of its screenings during BIFF. It is a feature documentary about Joni Vorass Lillard of Beloit who, as a seven-year-old in 1986, was about to celebrate her birthday at Children’s Hospital in Boston, and Bob Jensen of Clinton, who sent her handmade cards every day for the next two and a half years. The heartwarming bond that formed between them showcases the healing power of love, empathy and compassion.

Filmmakers Mark Davis and Jan Jensen will be live (in person) at the event to answer any questions.

Admission is $5 adults, $2 students, or free to members of the Film Society of Beloit. Films start at 6:30pm and free coffee, dessert and water are provided at each program.

Please note that tickets are NOT pre-sold, seating is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. These films are very popular so please make sure to arrive early to get a seat.
