Well-behaved\, leashed dogs are welcome! \nRegistration is $40 (increases June 1st!) and includes a race bib with time tracking\, admission to the sunflower field\, and an apple cider donut. Race T-shirts will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting HSSW’s mission of helping pets going home again. \nA significant portion of ticket sales will also benefit HSSW\, as well as $1 from every non-race participant sunflower field admission that day!

DESCRIPTION:National Night Out will be held in Beloit on Wednesday\, August 7\, 2024. The kickoff event will be hosted by the Beloit Police Department at 5:00 pm. at Telfer Park. We will have free food\, demonstrations\, police and fire equipment. Multiple community resources an non-profit organizations will be there to show their support for the community. \nThe Beloit Police Department will be giving out Wyze OG home security cameras again this year to the first 100 City of Beloit Residents who sign up at the event. Please bring proof or residency (Valid ID or Utility Bill) and limited to 1 camera per household. Planning an exciting event with UW Med Flight stopping by at 5pm\, a vehicle extraction demonstration by Beloit City of Beloit Fire Department at 5:30 and a drone demonstration at 6:00. Food will be provided\, be sure to get your meal ticket at the gate.

SUMMARY:Child Safety Seat Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The Janesville Fire Department (JFD) and Janesville Police Department (JPD) are working to help parents and guardians protect the lives of Janesville’s youngest residents. The Child Safety Seat program provides monthly events with certified child safety seat technicians who will inspect and instruct on proper safety seat use. \nThe next Child Safety Seat will be held on Thursday\, August 8\, at Fire Station #1 (303 Milton Ave.) from 8 a.m. to noon. \nSeveral technicians from the JFD and JPD will be available to check child safety seats during the event. Each inspection takes approximately 30 minutes and is free of charge; however\, the JFD and JPD will accept donations. These contributions help fund the operating costs of the inspection program. Parents are encouraged to make an inspection appointment to help limit program wait times. The JFD will also have safety seats available. \nFor an appointment or additional information\, contact the JFD at (608) 921-3786.

House opens at 6:30pm and is general seating. Show starts at 7:30pm. \nFun Fact: The Janesville Performing Arts Center is in the building where Pete Lee went to middle school. \nWHO IS PETE LEE? Pete Lee was the first standup comedian to get a standing ovation on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon\, and it resulted in him appearing on the show three times in the last year. This happened after Jimmy personally attended one of Pete’s live shows in NYC and immediately invited him on the show. Pete’s joyful humor comes from his Midwestern roots. Raised in Janesville\, WI by divorced parents and a 19-inch television\, he was destined to pursue a career in entertainment. In 2005\, Pete flew to New York to make his television debut on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend\, and the taping went so well that he decided to move to NYC. Soon after moving to NYC\, he was selected to perform at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal\, where he was voted a standout performer. In 2008 Pete made his network television debut performing on NBC’s Last Comic Standing\, finishing as a semi-finalist. That same year\, he made his television acting debut on the CBS Soap Opera As The World Turns. At the end of 2008\, he shot his own Comedy Central Half Hour Special\, which earned him a cult following at comedy clubs\, and the opportunity to perform over the next ten years at 500 colleges across the country. If you haven’t heard of Pete Lee yet\, prepare to tell other people!
