Janesville police may not be dressed like Santa, but they plan to spread a little holiday cheer. The Janesville Police Department may be trying to bolster its image. Officer Becky Schmall says law enforcement nationwide has been getting a bad wrap in the media, and it's important to show people they're the good guys. Schmall says any officer who has a positive contact with a citizen can choose to distribute a $10 gift card as a way to say thank-you. The program is not a fundraiser or charity. The businesses participating including Blain's Farm and Fleet, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin' donuts, Festival Foods, Kwik Trip, Lion's Quick mart, Texas Roadhouse, and Woodman's Food Market.
