An Evansville man accused of swindling hundreds of thousands of dollars out of customers of his former business makes an appearance in Rock County Court.
After 47-year-old Troy Tofte waived his preliminary hearing Monday afternoon, he plead not guilty to 36 felony charges of theft and fraud – seven of which were added since he last appeared in court.
Authorities say that while Tofte owned Janesville RV he failed to deliver trailers that customers paid for, and he also sold trailers on consignment without turning the money over to the original owners.
