Janesville residents are being reminded city utility workers follow a specific set of rules when contacting residents. The warning follows a recent suspicious incident were a stranger pretended to be a water utility worker in the hopes of gaining entry into a home. Officials say all city employees have identification badges and Water Utility employees wear uniforms. They are also expected to come to the front door, and not call after 8:00 at night.
