A lengthy prison sentence for a 20-year-old Beloit man accused of being involved in a drug deal which ended in a shooting death. Rock County Judge Michael Haakenson Tuesday morning sentenced Mickale A. Hicks to 23-years in prison for his role in the November 2014 death of Joe’l Baldwin-Davidson Royster.  Court records indicate Royster was actually killed by another man, but Hicks was accused of setting up a drug deal, and being present when the victim was shot.  He is also ordered to serve time on extended supervision.
