The latest figures on tourism spending are out, and Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Christine Rebout is thrilled. She says visitors spent more than $220 million in 2015, which is an increase of almost 9% from the year before. Rebout adds the economic impact for traveler spending in the county supported almost 3891 jobs with a total labor income of more than $90 million in wages and salaries to residents. She says it also generated close to $27 million in taxes and other fees for state and local government. State figures show Rock County enjoyed the 3rd largest increase among all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.
