Uniformed officers and civilians alike come out to honor Janesville’s fallen K9 officer. K9 Hardy will be missed, judging from Tuesday’s turnout lining both sides of the street in front of the police station. Dozens of uniformed officers stood at attention, and the crowd fell silent as a memorial procession slowly passed by with the remains of a faithful public servant. Police Chief David Moore says these few moments of respect are important for a community and its law enforcement. Hardy collapsed shortly after reporting for duty one day last week.
