The Milton School District is putting technology to use to make the new school year just a bit safer.

Milton School District spokesman Jerry Schuetz says they’re installing an app on every student’s iPad and laptop to create another way to anonymously report crime.

Schuetz says the app is being provided at no cost to the district by the Janesville Area Crime Stoppers.

Schuetz is hoping the app will help kids speak up about crime and help law enforcement prevent it.

Shuetz says they’re creating awareness of the app at their school assemblies, and with banners and posters around their buildings.
