Alliant Energy breaks ground on a major expansion north of Beloit. Governor Walker attended groundbreaking ceremonies Thursday for Alliant’s Riverside Energy Center expansion. The Governor highlighted how the project fits into the good things happening in the area. Walker explained how it could bring new business to the state. The $700 million facility will have the capacity to serve more than half-a-million homes when it’s construction in 2020. Officials also say it’ll create more than 1000 construction jobs and result in an estimated $250 million economic impact during construction.
