A 32-year year old Beloit man will spend eight years behind bars on a federal drug conviction.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Madison says Darnell Isabell plead guilty to distributing crack cocaine in September of last year.

At the time of his arrest in March of 2016 Isabell was under state supervision for a prior drug offense. He was sentenced as a career offender due to having multiple prior felony convictions including three that are drug-related.

The charge is the result of an investigation by a task force formed through the Federal bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Violent Crime Initiative.
