The entire Milton City Council is behind a plan to share more fire services with Janesville. The council voted unanimously Tuesday night in favor of an intergovernmental agreement. The city of Janesville and town of Milton have already approved the deal. Officials say the new agreement will further expand the department’s shared services. They’re quick to stress this is not the beginning of a merger. However, the cities could eventually construct a new fire station on the north side of Janesville for the department to share.
