E-coli found in Rock River stream

Normally in the dead of winter most people wouldn’t take notice, but this year the Rock County Health Department is issuing a “Water Quality Advisory” for Badfish Creek in the Town of Porter.  Environmental Health Director Rick Wietersen says the mid-winter testing found extremely high levels of E. coli bacteria. The other Rock County waterways sampled had low levels of E. coli below health advisory levels.  Only one such water test is scheduled in mid-winter.  Routine testing typically begins in May.
