Whitewater police are investigating a suspicious package found outside the high school this morning. Police say the school was put on lockdown after the package was found at 7:55 a.m. Monday. Officers say students were immediately moved to the high school auditorium, and then off campus to the UW Whitewater Young Auditorium as a precautionary measure. The Whitewater Aquatic Center was also evacuated. Authorities say the Kenosha Bomb Squad was also called in. Parents were allowed to pick up their children from the UW Whitewater Young Auditorium. Vehicles would be available for pick-up after the site is clear.
