Janesville City Manager Mark Frietag is keeping the lines of communication open with General Motors about the sale of the old manufacturing plant. Freitag says GM officials told him earlier this month a sale is “close”. A lot of rumors have been swirling around the community since semi trailers showed up in the parking lot. Freitag says he sent a note to GM asking them for any information possible, considering all the inquiries regarding activity at the plant, because of those trailers. City officials say the trailers are GM’s and they part of decommissioning of the plant.
