Beloit police are investigating a fatal bicycle accident. Officers say the accident was reported a little before 4:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the corner of Grand Avenue and College Street. A 74-year-old man was found severely injured by a tree. Police say he was taken to the hospital where he died about two-hours later. The preliminary investigation suggests he was riding at a high rate of speed, and hit the curb, before striking the tree. No witnesses have stepped forward.
