Six car pile-up Sunday closes Interstate

Two people are taken to the hospital after a weekend six-car pileup on the Interstate near Edgerton.  The two were injured after the chain reaction crash in the southbound lanes of I-90/39 near the Highway 59 exit just before noon Sunday.  The state patrol says one of the people injured was 28-year-old Andrew Portwine of Beloit.  The other person injured was a 67-year-old woman from Georgia.  Both were transported to Mercy Hospital with “non life-threatening injuries.  Troopers say the crash happened in an area where traffic was slowed, and vehicles involved were following too closely.  The crash shut down lanes on the interstate for two hours.
