Rock County Sheriff’s Office lifts speed restrictions on Rock River

It’s smooth sailing on the Rock River – at least for now.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says the U.S. Geologcal Survey Gauge on Lake Koshkonong is at 7.22 feet, and the Gauge at Afton read 6.41 feet.

County Ordinance allows for the slow-no-wake restriction to be removed from the northern Rock County line to the Indianford Dam when that portion of the river falls below eight feet, and from the portion of the river from the Dam to the Beloit Rock Town Line Road Bridge when the gauge falls bellow six -and-a-half-feet.

The portion of the river from the Beloit Rock Town Line Road Bridge to the State line was already no longer under a slow-no-wake speed restriction.
