The city of Janesville may get a little relief from the antiquated state shared revenue formula.  Janesville currently receives $81 per resident compared to a peer average of $179.  City officials say the current state shared revenue formula has been frozen since 2001 and is based off 16-year-old data that is no longer accurate.  Under the proposed state budget, the city could get a special provision allocating $583 thosuand per year, each of the next five years, to offset the current distribution formula.  The proposed state budget could be passed as early as this week and be on the Governor’s desk by the end of September.
