The elementary schools in one local district do well under the state’s latest ranking criteria. All of Milton’s elementary’s were rated as “significantly exceeding expectations”. Milton Consolidated Elementary Principal Sarah Stuckey attributes their success to team work. Consolidated scored the highest among the states 1201 elementary schools. As far as area school districts go, Milton, Evansville, Clinton, and Parkview ranked “exceeds expectations”, Janesville, Beloit Turner, and Edgerton “meet expectations”, and Beloit “meets few expectations”. The state’s district report card system takes into account considerations including standardized test scores, student growth, graduation rates, and the performance gap among different socioeconomic and minority groups.
