(Gazette photo)  One of the city of Janesville’s favorite sons has passed away.  Howard Gage Junior was well known and liked in the city.  The 1955 graduate of Janesville High School, and later U-W Madison, was known for his love and service to the community.  Gage was likely best known professionally through his work as the school district’s public relation manager from 1975 to 1998, and owner of Videogenics.  Gage was far better known for his gentle manner, sense of humor, and dedication to his home town.  That service included stints as president of the Janesville Salvation Army, Janesville Toastmasters, Janesville Education Foundation, and chairman of the board and campaign chair for the United Way of Northern Rock County.  Gage passed away from complications resulting from a recent fall.  He was 81.
