A habit by some Janesville motorists, to leave their vehicle unlocked, is turning out to be costly. Sergeant Aaron Ellis says 370 thefts from vehicles have been reported so far this year.  Ellis suggests the unseasonably mild weather has contributed to the recent spike in thefts, but he expects even more with the upcoming holidays.  Police are urging motorists to lock their vehicles, park in well lit areas, and secure valuables and firearms.
