A 45-year-old former Janesville School District special education teacher, accused of the repeated sexual assault of a student at Edison Middle School, offers to plea of no-contest to the charges. Rock County Assistant District Attorney Richard Sullivan this morning asked the court to deny Aaron O’Reilly’s plea. O’Reilly’s defense attorney suggested a guilty plea could hurt his client in a civil case filed on behalf of the student. Judge Haakenson denied the request, so now the defendant is expected to return to court with a different plea.
