The Rock County Historical Society’s executive director is stepping down. Michael Reuter says he’s resigning to pursue a career in fundraising and donor development at a foundation near Madison. Reuter has enjoyed success with funding at the Rock County Historical Society during his five years on the job. During Reuter’s tenure, the historical society’s budget more than doubled from $200 thousand to more than $500 thousand. Officials say growing attendance and popularity of historical society events are the reason. His last day in Janesville will be January 19th.
