A 31-year-old Janesville man, wanted on a number of misdemeanor and felony warrants, is recovering after an encounter with Janesville Police K9 Fred. Police say they cornered Lynell J. Harris in a basement of a home on West Cherry Street around 4:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Officers say they gave several commands for Harris to surrender before K-9 Fred was deployed and found Harris hiding behind some debris. Fred bit Harris, and held on to him until officers could take him into custody. Harris is facing charges including Resisting an Officer and Disorderly Conduct-Domestic Violence.
