AUDIO: City of Janesville considers increasing liquor store quota

The Janesville City Council discusses an ordinance amendment which would allow for up to five more liquor stores in town.

Currently there's a quota on the number of Class A liquor licenses in Janesville, which is set at one per 3,500 residents according to the US census.

Economic Development Coordinator Ryan Garcia says the City is considering amending that quota to one license per 2,500 residents according to the annual population estimate of the State Department of Administration.

The council will hold a public hearing on the issue Monday at 7:00 p.m.
