With flu season just beginning, Josh Sheridan with Saint Mary's Janesville Hospital tells Your Talk Show on WCLO co-workers aren't doing anyone any favors by avoiding calling in sick.  Sheridan says the influenza can be spread by droplets, so the virus can be picked up on surfaces previously used by anyone who's ill .  He suggests the best ways to prevent the spread of the flu is to get vaccinated, cover sneezes and coughs, and frequent hand washing.  He also adds people shouldn't be worried about catching the flu by getting the vaccinated.  He says the injectable virus is dead.  He also says inexpensive vaccinations doled out at pharmacies are just as effective as ones from expensive medical practices.  People most at risk of flu complications are typically the very young, old, or those with compromised immune systems.
