Authorities investigate another officer involved shooting

A Walworth County officer involved shooting began with a violent home invasion.

Thursday afternoon the Walworth County Sheriff's Office release more details of an early morning officer involved shooting.

According to a news release, the man shot and killed by Sheriff's deputies early Thursday morning is 39-year-old Jeremiah B. Krubert of Elkhorn.

Deputies were first dispatched to the residence on Highway O in the town of La Grange shortly before 3:00 am for a home invasion.

Reportedly Krubert broke into the home occupied by his mother and her boyfriend, and beat the boyfriend with a metal pipe, causing extensive damage to his face and skull.

Krubert allegedly confronted a deputy with a weapon as he was attempting to leave the driveway, and at that time the deputy discharged his weapon.

Krubert then stole the deputies squad car and a short pursuit occurred before he crashed in the town of Sugar Creek. He then exited the car with the squad shotgun and walked toward deputies.

Three deputies discharged their weapons, and Kubert was pronounced dead at the scene.

The four deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.
