The Beloit International Film Festival started 10 years ago with a series of community meetings during which the dreams of a creative program that would draw film artists from around the world to Beloit became a reality.

Having celebrated the first decade, BIFF, in cooperation with the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce and the Stateline Community Foundation, will reconvene the community to examine the next decade.  All members of the greater Beloit community are invited to a special presentation on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the Beloit Public Library.

"BIFF is a program that grew out of the community and it is appropriate that we set our future goals with the input from that community,” says BIFF President Marty Densch. “We want to share our strategic plan and some exciting new developments as we continue to grow in quality and reputation.”

BIFF has grown significantly in the past decade with dramatic increases in the number and the quality of films submitted as well as year-round programs. More than 1,000 filmmakers from the U.S. and 50 nations have attended BIFF which has attracted 42,000 attendees.
