Closing the Gap in Unemplyment Benefits

Deb Kolste of Janesville is teaming up with fellow Democratic Assembly representative Cory Mason of Racine to introduce a bill to remove the one week waiting period for persons applying for unemployment benefits.

Kolste argues there's no justification for making unemployed workers wait a week for their benefits to start.

Representatives Kolste and Mason's districts include communities with some of the highest unemployment rates in the state.

They plan to introduce the bill this week.
