The future of the arts may have a big impact on the Janesville economy. The United arts Alliance of Rock County and Janesville Performing Arts Center hosted a "Creative Vision" session Wednesday. Featured speaker, Waunakee City Administrator Todd Schmidt talked about the influence of the arts on a local economy. He says studies show younger workers actually decide where they want to live before deciding where to look for work. This makes the quality of life essential to attract workers and therefor quality businesses and industry. Several workshops are being planned to illustrate how the Janesville arts community can work together to build awareness. A marketing study is also planned to discover just how much the financial impact of the arts might be.
