Mixed reviews from members of the Rock County 4-H Fair board, about the idea of moving the land-locked fair to a wide-open site in Evansville. Many members of the Fair Board and Association attended a meeting of the county's Agriculture and Extension Committee (Monday) night, to consider a proposal from the Southern Wisconsin Agricultural Group. SWAG plans to develop 200 acres in the northwestern Rock County to host regional agriculture events. Some fair board members like the idea. They say they'd love to see the fair stay in Janesville, but cite a lack of leadership in the county to find a new site. Others worry the site is not centrally located and would reduce attendance. The fair board plans more discussion on the topic.
