Quirk found not guilty of hit and run

3161590A Janesville a School Board member has been found not guilty of hit and run of an unattended vehicle following a trial in Rock County Court.
Judge Alan Bates found that an expert witness for Carla Quirk proved that the damage on her vehicle, and her neighbor’s vehicle could not have happened from the two colliding. He did however find Quirk guilty of driving too fast for conditions.
A Janesville Police Department Officer testified that Quirk had initially claimed that someone hit her vehicle while she was parked at a Janesville grocery store, and later changed her story to admit that she accidentally hit her neighbor’s vehicle but that she didn’t think there was any damage.
Quirk did not take the stand in her own defense.
