The Beloit City Council wants the Plan Commission to take another look at a developer's proposal to turn the Kolak Education Center into a multi-family residential development.
Community Development Director Julie Christensen says Commonwealth Development has reduced the scope of the project from 40 units to 33 since the Plan Commission recommended denial.
After holding a public hearing Monday night the council voted unanimously to take City staff's advise and send the proposal back to the Plan Commission.
Neighbors of the proposed development have been outspoken in their opposition to the project.
