The trial of a 19-year-old Beloit man, who's charged with murder in connection with the November 2014 death of Joe'l Baldwin-Davidson Royster, gets underway Monday.
Mickale Hicks is charged with felony murder as a repeater because of a previous felony drug conviction.
Authorities believe Hicks orchestrated a plan to rob Joe'l Baldwin-Davidson Royster of Beloit of marijuana in November of 2014 in the 1200 block of Copeland Avenue in Beloit.
According to the criminal complaint Royster was shot and killed during the robbery attempt.
Officers never identified the man they say actually shot Royster.
Hicks' trial is expected to last another three days.
