Salvation Army in need of turkeys and hams

The Christmas season is here and the Salvation Army is asking you to help needy families in our communities again this year.  Hundreds of individuals and families will seek assistance with food during the holidays, and we need your assistance to provide Turkeys and Hams for our annual Christmas Food Baskets.  With your help we can insure that families have everything they need to have a festive holiday meal.

Last year, the Janesville Salvation Army provided Holiday assistance to over 300 households.  We already have hundreds of sign-ups from families to receive assistance.  The Salvation Army is continuing to sign up people every day and we anticipate helping even more families than last year.  Donations from the community are what enables the Salvation Army to help so many people.  “For those families receiving a Christmas Food Baskets – it’s the turkey and the ham that makes it extra special” said Major Bob Fay of the Janesville Salvation Army.   Turkeys or hams (large and small) can be brought to the Salvation Army, 514 Sutherland Ave, any time before December 11, 2015.
