An elderly Green County woman is assaulted by a stranger who entered her home uninvited.
The Green County Sheriff's Office says just after 4:30 Monday afternoon deputies responded to the report of an assault at a residence on the 1800 block of Stateline Road in Spring Grove Township.
The 76-year-old resident reported that a white male in his mid twenties knocked on her door, and then entered the home without being given permission.
Authorities believe the suspect was attempting to commit a daytime burglary when he unexpectedly encountered the victim.
Once inside, the suspect spoke with the victim about purchasing her barn before knocking her to the floor and fleeing in a red car.
