Beloit man sentenced to 55 months in federal prison

A 41-year-old Beloit man is sentenced to four and a half years in federal prison for selling heroin and methamphetamine.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Madison says Paul Winfield plead guilty to one count of selling heroin on November 4th.

Law enforcement conducted several buys of heroin and meth from Winfield in March of last year after an FBI task force received information that he was selling drugs in the Beloit area.

At the time of the offense Winfield was already on federal supervision for a 2001 conviction of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.

When Winfield was arrested, investigators found almost 38 grams of heroin, and 27 grams of methamphetamine in his home.
