Those considering a run for Beloit City Council get three extra days to file their nomination papers.
Incumbent Chuck Kincaid failed to meet the December 28th deadline to file his Notification of Non-Candidacy which automatically extends the deadline for those wishing to run for his office to file nomination papers.
The original January 5th deadline to file nomination papers has been extended to Friday, January 8th, at 5:00 p.m.
So far six people are running for four open seats. They are incumbents Ana Kelly and Sheila De Forest, along with former council member Kevin Leavy, and newcomers Regina Dunkin, James Faragher, and Mark Preuschl.
