The driver who crashed into the rear of a school bus Tuesday in the town of Center gets a ticket for failure to stop for a school bus. The Rock County Sheriff's Office says 36-year-old John M. Ehlers of Janesville is in serious but stable condition at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. Deputies say Ehlers was driving east on Highway 14 near North Fox Road about 3:30 in the afternoon when he crashed into the back of the School Bus while it was slowing to drop-off students. The car was pinned and officials used a skid loader to lift the bus off the car to free Ehlers. Three of the 24 Evansville School District students on the bus suffered minor injuries. The highway was shut down for more than three hours after the accident.
