Infant dropped to safety from roof of burning home

A mother and baby from Lake Geneva are lucky to be alive after being rescue from the roof of a burning home Tuesday.
The Lake Geneva Police and Fire Departments says the fire was reported at a triplex on the 1100 block of Elm Street just before noon.
The home was fully engulfed when emergency responders arrived, and four residents had already escaped from the first floor.
Two adult females and a baby were trapped on the roof of the home. The mother dropped the baby down to an officer on the ground and jumped off. The other woman fell onto an officer after the ladder she was climbing down broke. The mother suffered a minor leg injury. The other woman was uninjured, and the baby was taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
The two-story, three unit home is considered a total loss.
