A 51-year-old registered sex offender is being released to the Janesville area next week. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says Brian K. Walter will be released to Rock Valley Community Programs on West Sunny Lane Tuesday. Officials say the former Beloit man was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in 1996. While placed at Rock Valley, Walter is not allowed to have contact with minors, consume alcohol, patronize establishments that sell alcoholic drinks, contact victims or have any unapproved activities in the community without the approval of his Division of Community Corrections agent. He also must comply with standard sex-offender rules and cooperate with GPS monitoring.
