The Janesville Police Department works to find out how the community thinks it’s doing.
Chief David Moore says the survey was sent out to 5000 Janesville residents last spring.
The findings were similar to a survey conducted in 2009. 80 percent of residents said they were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of life in Janesville and only seven percent said they were unsatisfied.
85 percent of respondents said they were comfortable or very comfortable approaching a police officer.
About 1,100 people responded to the survey which was sent out last spring.
The Janesville Police Department discussed the results of the survey with the media Monday afternoon before presenting them to the City Council.
