More than three times as many students have been expelled from the Janesville School District than at this same time last year.
A high school student was expelled for making a threat to destroy school property by means of an explosive devise. That student is eligible for early reinstatement if a number of conditions are met including a complete mental health screening.
A middle school was also expelled for possessing an illegal drug with the intent to deliver. That student is eligible for early reinstatement by meeting a number of conditions including obtaining a controlled substance abuse evaluation.
This brings the total number of expulsions this school year to 15 compared to four at the same time last year.
